We are delighted to announce our collaboration with charitable organisation SEO-London to further our positive contribution to the community, and our role in promoting professional services as a sector that enables social mobility and diversity.

Totum’s ethos is to go far beyond any one placement. We see ourselves as strategic partners who can make a tangible difference to businesses and individuals through excellence in recruitment.

That is also why supporting wider social causes and community endeavours is so important to us: supporting improvements in our wider community is an important part of our identity (click here to see further details on our Commitment to Diversity).

Our work with SEO-London

We are therefore delighted to be working with SEO-London, an educational opportunity charity that supports young people from diverse ethnic and socioeconomic backgrounds to access and thrive at elite employers. We are advertising our vacancies across UK professional services firms through SEO-London’s job boards as well as helping the SEO team to produce workshops designed to support candidates to achieve their career goals (more details to follow in due course).

We are also introducing a Totum Bursary, to give a grant to a student from a less privileged background to help them through University. We will work with SEO-London to help identify and select the student (the process will be starting March 2021), and for three years, will make a meaningful contribution to their studies/accommodation costs. We will also provide mentoring and advice to the student during that time.

This work with SEO-London supports all our efforts to improve social mobility and diversity in the workplace. Not only can we help this fantastic organisation in improving career opportunities for talented students from ethnic minority or low socioeconomic backgrounds, but it also helps us to support a professional services sector that benefits from a wide diversity of talent.

About SEO-London

SEO began in New York in 1963 to support inner city kids from underprivileged backgrounds to enjoy successful careers. It launched in the UK in 2000 and has expanded its presence since then across three flagship programmes: SEO Careers, SEO Scholars and SEO Connect. In its time in the UK it has supported several thousand alumni into internships and graduate roles, has provided hundreds of students with training, mentoring and work experience, and connected many of its professionals with job opportunities in the UK, Africa and Asia.

We are delighted to be working with SEO-London and look forward to reporting back on progress in the months ahead.
